Chabrouh Dam

Chabrouh Dam is one of Lebanon’s major water infrastructure projects, constructed between 2002 and 2007 in Faraya, Keserwan. With a reservoir capacity of approximately 8 million m³, the dam was developed primarily to secure potable water supply to the Keserwan region.

Two special cement types (Low heat of Hydration and Ultra fine cement) were produced by CEMLEB, to meet the project specifications.

Sama Beirut Tower

Sama Beirut Tower is one of Lebanon’s most iconic high-rise developments, rising approximately 195 metres above the heart of Beirut. The project comprises six basement levels, a retail podium and 52 superstructure floors, accommodating residential, commercial and office spaces.

CEMLEB produced a specific C-S 42.5 ChB and P 42.5 HR to meet the project requirements of high-performance mass concrete with low heat of hydration and high strength.

Beirut Port Seafront — Extension of Quay 16 & Container Terminal

A major expansion of the Port of Beirut, the project involved the reclamation of approximately 1.7 million m³ of fill material, seabed dredging and ground improvement works. The project included the construction of a 500 m × 34 m new quay, supported by 574 steel piles, with approximately 26,000 m³ of concrete used for the quay deck. The container terminal was further developed with extensive infrastructure and utility networks, 62,300 m³ of concrete base slabs and 178,000 m² of concrete paving. The project was completed in 2013.

CEMLEB produced a specific cement C-S 42.5 ChB to meet the project requirement of high-performance mass concrete with low heat of hydration and enhanced durability to withstand the demanding marine environment.

Sawfar–Mdeirej Bridge / Beirut–Damascus Highway

A landmark section of the Beirut–Damascus Highway, the Sawfar–Mdeirej project included approximately 5.5 km of highway and major bridge and viaduct structures. Executed by TOTO Costruzioni Generali under the supervision of the CDR, the project was completed in 2001 and became a key link between Beirut and the Bekaa Valley.

New U.S. Embassy Compound — Beirut

The New U.S. Embassy Compound in Awkar is one of the region’s most significant diplomatic infrastructure projects, developed on a site of approximately 180,000 m² and comprising 19 buildings and extensive supporting facilities. The project involved major excavation, shoring, piling and structural concrete works, including complex three-dimensional concrete elements and a significant volume of fair-faced white concrete, requiring high levels of quality and architectural precision.

CEMLEB produced a special White Cement to be used in the structural and architectural fair-faced white concrete for the New U.S. Embassy Compound in Beirut, contributing to the project’s demanding architectural and aesthetic requirements.
